Renew Dungeon Magazine or not?

I've got two months left in my subscription to Dungeon Magazine and I'm wondering whether to renew or not. Not playing D&D much lately I'm basically just having a quick look at the comics and filing them away. And if we do start a new campaign with my regular group, I'll probably be a player not a DM.

To those who don't know, Dungeon Magazine publishes adventure and articles for dungeon masters. Each issue usually contains three or four adventures, some cartoons, and some articles with advice and resources for DMs to use in their games.

I've been getting Dungeon for a couple of years now. I also started an Eberron based campaign a couple of years ago. We did the various Eberron adventures from WotC and I even used a couple of Eberron related adventures from Dungeon. Finally I decided to push the PCs into the Age of Worms. They've been thru a few of those adventures but we decided to put the campaign on hold.

So I can certainly say thay I've gotten some use out of the magazine. I used to enjoy reading the Dungeon Craft articles from Monte Cook.

But now that I'm likely to not DM again for awhile should I renew?

I think for now that I probably will renew for the following reasons:

  • It's the cheapest way to get collect a whole pile of adventures.

  • The latest Adventure Path, Savage Tide, is another complete campaign, and maybe someday I'll use that, just I as I used Age of Worms.

  • I like DMing. The other DM hasn't started a campaign yet, so I'm going to wait a bit longer, but maybe I could DM a couple of short adventures.

  • I might have some time to develop a new campaign this summer so it would be nice to have some material.

  • The advertising. A lot of it I also see in Dragon magazine, but I like seeing ads for things like the Monster Maze - Den of Evil (a really cool looking dungeon tile system).
